Review of the Book

This is definitely the best biography I have ever read! The main reason for that is that this biography had more of a story to it rather than just a bunch of facts. It was a very inspiring book. It gave out all of the little details that you wouldn't know by reading a plain biography. I would give the book a three out of five star rating, and for a biography, that is pretty good. The Author was Sam Welling, the copyright date was 1999 and it was published by Barbour Publishing Inc.

I am planning on reading another book by this author. Like I said above, it was a very good biography. He writes biographies about Christians that have a good importance, which is a category that I like. He has many other books about Christians in a series in which he calls,"Heroes of Faith." If the biography that I read is as good as his others, then I will definitely try and find his other books so I can read them.

My Obstacles and Risks

I've gone through many obstacles and risks throughout my life. I had a very big decision to make when I had to decide if I wanted to become a nun. There were many risks in doing this. I would never be able to see my friends and family again. There are many diseases in India and a lot of the other places we went, so there was a larger chance we would get ill and die before our natural life span was over. In becoming a nun, I also had to promise my life to God, and that meant no free time to go out and have a party or whatever. However, I must admit, choosing to become a nun was definitely worthwhile.

As I got older and got more involved in my Mission of Charity, I was very busy. I had to run a good orphanage, teach about Christ, help the poor and people in poverty, and do all this while running my missions. It was very stressful, and I got clammy quite often. I got major headaches and cramps. It was especially hard as I got into my old age, but I loved doing all the things I did that I kept pushing on until my death.

I was very fearful, I will admit that. When I taught the teachings of Christ many people laughed at me and spat at my face. Some even threw stones at my fragile, five foot body. I had to pray every time before I had a lesson, for I was so fearful that I would almost refuse to go in and teach. Yet, if I didn't teach these children of God about Christ, then who would? It was my job to do that, and I didn't let my fears get in my way.

Character Traits that Describe Me

  • Humane- Lots of people have considered me humane due to my care for people who need help all around communist countries. I have helped those that are suffering and I show tenderness and sympathy toward them. I have given to many people who were poor and were going through poverty.
  • Holy- I am known to be very holy because of my great love for God. I never stop thinking about Him and I always keep Him in my heart. I have also taught His word to many of His children. I opened church houses a lot of different countries so there would be a way that everybody would be able to hear of Christ.
  • Gracious- Many have told me that I am gracious. I forgive easily and I am even quicker to ask for forgiveness from someone else. I never remember things that people have done that are wrong, as long as they ask myself and God for forgiveness. As soon as they ask, they are forgiven, period.
  • Determined- People always tell me I am determined. I always wanted to finish something I started. Everyday when I was little, I tried to remember to read the Bible, and I forgot to a lot of times. However, I was determined to make it a habit and soon after, I was doing it everyday.
  • Loved- Everyone tells me that I am so lucky to be as loved as I am. I have lots of friends, including all of those that go to church with me and the ones I go to school with. Then, of course, there is family, and I have a large family. I don't even know some of my own cousins! And last, but certainly not least, there is God, who loves me more than I or anyone else could ever imagine. I must admit, I am lucky to be loved as much as I am, but everyone else is loved every bit as much.

My Effect on the World or Other People

I have effected the world in many different ways. As a child, I had always thought that the people that were sick and hurt deserved help. I never lost that feeling as I grew older, and I eventually started a program called,"Mission of Charities," to help those kinds of people, and tell them about the Lord. I grew to enjoy helping these people and telling them about the Lord. I always enjoyed putting smiles on there faces. My missions soon were sent to places I could have never imagined. I had opened church houses in almost all of the communist countries by the early 1990's.

Many of my missions were mainly based on the teachings of Christ, not just to help people. Soon, I was eventually going to places myself where people were perfectly healthy, and I would only speak of Christ. I could tell people had changed just after one meeting with me. I restored love to many people who had no one to love them, and in the process I saved many lives. I showed many people how to start there journey with God, and I taught them about how God loved them.

During the process of sending out missions and spreading the word of Christ, I created a home for babies and young orphans, who had parents that were either dead or didn't have enough money to care for them. These children would otherwise be living on the streets, and would probably die before the age of twelve. Many of these children became productive as adults, and got good jobs and raised healthy families. Most importantly, these children would not have even heard about Christ if I hadn't opened this home for them.

Background Information

I am Mother Teresa, and I am very pleased to tell you some information about me and what I have done for a living. You may not have heard much about me, but that should change in the next several minutes. I hope this blog has a positive influence on you, and that you will like it. I was born on August 26, 1910 in Skopje, Macedonia. My father died when I was a young child. Ever since I can remember I have had a strong relationship with God. In fact I enjoyed being with him so much that I decided to give my life over to him, and become a nun.

I took my initial vows as a nun at age twenty on May 24, 1931. Ever since I became a nun I had been spreading the word of the Lord by ordering missions to people who needed help, and the poor people who had never heard of Christ our Lord before. I also had many people follow me, for I was a leader. Today, I am no longer alive, well, I am no longer alive in this world, anyway. I joined God in heaven, entering my eternal life with Him, on September 5, 1997. Lots of people saw my death as a bad thing. But it is not dying, it is entering life, well, at least that's what I believe. This is my life, and I hope you enjoy seeing the rest of my blog!
